Newsvine Piedmont Aviation Component Services, which provides
aircraft maintenance services, plans to expand its operations
in Kernersville.

The company will invest $5.8 million and create 120 jobs this
year by relocating sister company Limco Airepair from Oklahoma
to North Carolina, according to a news release today from Gov.
Bev Perdue.”

GTCC to begin training HondaJet interior workers (Dec. 19, 2008)
Newsvine Honda Aircraft Co. has already hired more workers than
it had originally planned for its aircraft design and
manufacturing campus at Piedmont Triad International Airport.

The company now employs about 400 people there, and will employ
well over 500 workers by the time it starts delivering planes at
the end of 2010, said Honda spokesman Stephen Keeney.”

“Company spokesman Jim McCluskey says FedEx now plans to open
the $300 million hub and its one-million-square-foot sorting
facility in two phases. Here’s what to expect next year:

In the first phase, which will start in the summer, the company
will move its existing, 160-man sorting operation at PTI to the
new hub.

In the second phase, which is now scheduled to start in the fall,
the company will open its state-of-the-art sorting facility.”
“The FedEx hub, once fully phased in, could create as many as
20,000 new jobs in the 14-county area surrounding PTIA over a
16-year period, according to the project’s economic impact study.

New wages and salaries are projected to grow to $5.5 billion,
and the total value-added impact on the Triad’s economy could be
$9.3 billion, according to the study. About $703 million
in new state tax revenues and $236 million in new local tax
revenues could be generated over the 16-year period.

In other cities with hub operations, including Memphis,
Indianapolis and Dallas-Fort Worth, FedEx has transformed the
landscape with industrial parks stretching for miles, with all
types of warehousing, distribution, and niche manufacturing
that require 24-hour production cycles and next-day deliveries.”

“Precor Incorporated to Open New Facility in Guilford County
142 New Jobs are Planned

Greensboro, NC – Precor Incorporated, one of the most respected
brands in fitness equipment, announced today that they will open
a new Southeast manufacturing, assembly and distribution facility
at Rock Creek Center in Eastern Guilford County.  The company
will build a 225,000 SF LEED certified building to accommodate
their operations and will invest $26.2 million.  Precor plans to
hire approximately 142 employees by 2011.  Those employees will
receive an average wage of $38,456.   The facility will also be
the headquarters for the Precor Strength Division.”

Guilford County, North Carolina. FedEx has purchased a
125-acre site along I-40 in the Triad Business Park and will
construct a 400,000 sq ft facility capable of sorting 45,000
packages per hour at full build out.”

Mack Trucks Inc. to Locate Corporate Office in Greensboro

“August 14, 2008 (Greensboro, NC) – Mack Trucks Inc., one of
North America’s largest producers of heavy-duty trucks, will
relocate its headquarters and some support functions to
Greensboro, creating 493 jobs and investing $17.7 million over
the next three years.  The decision was made to relocate
the company’s headquarters as a part of a restructuring plan. 
Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America, which is
headquartered in Greensboro, are both members of the
Sweden-based Volvo Group, the world’s second-largest producer
of heavy-duty trucks.”

foot corporate headquarters building on Hilltop Road to accommodate
the company’s growth.

About 100 people will work in the new headquarters, said D.H.
Griffin Jr., president. This is about 10 percent of the company’s

of land at Fogelman Road and NC 68 for a new corporate headquarters
and operations center.

The new building will be about 13,000 square feet, which is
larger than the bank’s existing primary location on NC 150 in
